About the R.O.Y. LOGO

The logo is made up from stylized first initials of the slogan "Recovery Orient Yourself"

By being stylized the logo does not immediately bring to mind the acronym R.O.Y. Rather the design prompts the second glance of the unusual.

The body and legs of the R and Y form a full enclosure around the O symbolizing the wrap around concept common in the Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Movement.

The body and legs of the R and Y also form a triangle. The triangle is an ancient symbol of the Body, Mind and Spirit trilogy also common in many of the self help, and professional "whole person" addiction and mental health concepts now advancing rapidly due to the transformation of mental health services and the recovery oriented systems of care in addictions.

We chose the first LOGO item to be a lapel pin or tie tack purposely to get the LOGO and the related advocacy and awareness symbol out into the public eye.

As designed these items can be worn as a tie tack or lapel pin, a sort of a broach for the women, the pin can also be attached to any number of everyday items that may be noticed in the world at large. Some examples might include; attaching to a handbag or strap, a laptop case, leather business card case, bulletin board, anything that you can stick a pin through. In addition with out much effort the pin can be broken off and the LOGO then hot glued to just about anything. A picture frame, office stapler, mirror, desk top items, cell phone or cell phone case, laptop, computer screen frame, file cabinet, etc. the list could go on and on. Go ahead us your imagination, the more creative the better as it will draw more attention to the logo and also more opportunities to increase the awareness of others.
